If you are planning your next adventure at Atlantis Bahamas, I want you to know that you will have a great time and will barely see any signs of Dorian. Despite all the huge challenges in some of the smaller islands, Nassau is open and very prepared for tourists.
The high-profile of Hurricane Dorian affected some of the tourism of this country and just like most countries in the Caribbean, the economy relies heavily on it. While some islands had really difficult times after Dorian (i.e. The Abacos and Grand Bahama), Nassau and Paradise Island were not in the path of the hurricane. I just visited Atlantis at Nassau and I will tell you that it is as beautiful as ever! We talked to the local people and while they got a lot of rain during the storm, it did not affect them that bad at Nassau.
Just like my natal country recovered from the hurricane a few years ago, Puerto Rico; one of the best ways to support The Bahamas is to visit them, talk to the people, enjoy them and spend some money in the islands.
Our thoughts and prayers with everyone affected (especially the people from The Abacos and Grand Bahama mentioned in this post)!
