What is the furthest point from your current location?

Have you ever wondered what is the furthest point from you? For whatever reason, I never thought about that until today. I am currently looking for ideas about what to see next, and the first thought was, what about the furthest point?

So of course, I started searching. I am currently in Pittsburgh, PA and the furthest point from me is between Perth and Augusta, Australia. I used the furthest city site to find these locations. The furthest city from my current location is Perth, Au. The furthest capital city from me is Port-aux-Francais in the French Southern and Antarctic Lands. Interesting enough, I have been to Australia and the Antarctic before. However, I have never been to the Western Australia area or the French Southern Antarctic Lands. Maybe this is an excuse to visit Australia and the Antarctic lands again, but with their Covid restrictions in these cities, those trips may be really far into the future.

Another tool I used was, Great Circle Map. It is an easy tool that will help you find the furthest airport from your closest airport, which can be quite useful when traveling. From me, PIT (Pittsburgh International) is my closest airport, and the furthest airport is YAUG (Augusta, Australia).

Here are the links of the sources I used to find the furthest point from your current location:

Since I mentioned I have been to Australia and Antarctic, here are photos from those two locations. 😜
